Every club has it's nutters, they all have families who go together, we cry at big games if we win or lose.....But for me being a Sheffield United supporter it's my religion. Friday just gone we had what we class as the biggest game of our season...we had the local derby match, against Sheffield Wednesday....or as we lovingly call them "piggys".
We won 3-2, they played dirty, so did we. It's all about Yorkshire pride and who can face going into work/college/uni/school if their team loses. United have always been the underachievers in Sheffield, although the last 5 years that's changed. Wednesday are now the feigning team.
I still get a complete buzz at every match, even after 14 years, my daughter is now a massive fan too.
The Blades, hated by just about everyone, but loved by me. Football it's like a marriage, it upsets you, gets you mad, makes you want to walk away....but you stay because it's unconditional love.
(sorry if this doesn't belong here, but someone gave me the idea of writing about it)
