Liverpool
After a game that saw more combat then the streets of Iraq, Liverpool overcame a poor first half showing to defeat Arsenal 4-2. The game was an absolute cracker with Arsenal dominatating the first 20 mins and scoring a great goal in the 13th minute from the boot of Diaby. From there the game looked over for Liverpool as the Gunners dominated the ball completing passes and running the Reds all over the park. It wasn't until a brief moment when the Reds were actually down the other end of the park for one of the first times in the game that the equaliser came fom a corner for Hyypia to head in a great goal.
The second half saw Liverpool realise that they were actually playing an important game and not just having a kick around the park with the dog. Torres put one past the keeper and the game stayed deadlocked until 6 mins from time when the Gunners equalised with a great team play for Adebayor to slot it past the Liverpool keeper.
All over red rover? Not quite. With the Gunners fans still celebrating Babel was judged to have been brought down in the box by Toure. A bit soft I must say given the physical nature of the game up until that point but Steven "GOD" Gerrard had no problem converting the penalty to make it 3-2 Liverpool.
With Arsenal pushing all their men up hoping for an equaliser, Babel got a runaway ball and cleared 50 meters to put any result beyond doubt. This goal should help to ease the pain of the Gunners fans as the dubious decision for a penalty was made up for by Babels goal.
The game saw only Senderos and Toure booked. Whick is amazing given the gladitorial battle that was seen. Perhaps the ref forgot his red card, as I can honestly say that more players from both teams should have seen yellow and in a few instances red.
Liverpool will meet Chelsea in the Semi-Final. The 3rd time in 4 years. If you hate Chelsea as much as most people do, the team to support now in Champions League is easy... Go Liverpool
Lucky Lucky Portsmouth
I watched the semi final, Portsmouth v W brom. Were'nt Portsmouth lucky?
A definate handball yet goal allowed! Will their luck run out against Cardif?
Check the date...
The BBC's football gossip column is definitely worth a look today.
